IHTSB Oct 16, 2022 We listen today to jazz trumpeters in recordings from the 1930s to the 1950s. Today's show is the third in our series showcasing jazz instrumentalists, following on from shows featuring pianists and jazz clarinetists in recordings from this time period. The trumpet and its cousin the cornet were prominent members of line ups in recordings, and there were some immensely talented and versatile trumpeters on the music scene, both in small groups and with orchestras. We listen to their excellent contribution in the rendition of a selection of jazz standards, as well, of course, to the work of all the other wonderful musicians with them in the studio!! Enjoy some classic jazz! Artist Year Song Time
