On today's show we listen to a mixture of singers, big bands and small jazz groups in recordings taken from the 1930s to the 1950s. Among our ladies we hear delightful pieces from Doris Day and Dolores Gray, and our gentlemen include Sammy Davis Jr and Mel Tormé. We listen to the wonderful big bands led by Count Basie and Bob Crosby. Wild Bill Davison joins us with a fine line up in his group the Commodores, and from 1938 we hear a live recording by the Benny Goodman quartet from the legendary Carnegie Hall concert of that year. Enjoy these and other fantastic recordings from days gone by!
